Bonny Graduates Forum Courtesy Visit to NDDC Board Representative Chief, Hon. Sir Tony C. Okocha JP, KSC, DSSRSWe are delighted to share a momentous occasion as the Bonny Graduates Forum, led by President Mr Jude Joshua Pepple, paid a courtesy visit to the distinguished Rivers State representative at the NDDC Board, Chief, Hon. Sir Tony C. Okocha JP, KSC, DSSRS.
PURPOSE OF THE VISIT:
Collaboration for Development
The primary objective of this visit was to foster collaboration for visible infrastructural development and human capacity building in the Bonny community.
KEY PROPOSALS PRESENTED BY THE FORUM:
Infrastructural Challenges: Revisiting the Bonny Ring Road
Emphasized the significance of the Bonny Ring Road to connect satellite towns, decongest the main town, and promote economic activities.
Highlighted the potential for fostering trade, and tourism, and creating an enabling environment for business growth.
Environmental Impact: Addressing Health Challenges
Acknowledged the economic benefits of oil and gas activities while emphasizing the pressing environmental and health challenges.
Urged the commission to invest urgently in critical infrastructure, particularly healthcare facilities, to improve the lives of the people.
Educational/Technical Needs: Enhancing Employability
Outlined professional courses essential for enhancing employability in oil and gas management, project management, information technology, and health and safety management.
Called for increased employment opportunities for Forum members within the commission.
Entrepreneurial Development: Supporting Sustainability
Presented a detailed proposal capturing infrastructural needs, professional training requirements, and health challenges faced by the Bonny community.
Emphasized the Forum’s commitment to being a partner in enhancing community sustainability.
